An Elton John tribute act, giant globe cash grabber activity, historical walking tours and Templeton the mascot were all part of the celebrations for Templars Square’s 60th anniversary!​

​Originally opened as Cowley Centre on 11 May 1965 and renamed Templars Square in 1989, the shopping centre marked six decades at the heart of the community with a vibrant, family-friendly event.​

​To celebrate the milestone, Amy Young  joined the centre team for their celebrations and a piece of birthday cake!​

Activate led in hosting a two day, family centred event at The Springs Shopping Centre which featured two workshops centred around our newly launched Honesty Library. We had bookmark making and front cover creations taking place across both days.​

These events work well to bring the local community together and offer enlivenment over key periods to encourage visitors to the centre.​

Today marks 80 years since VE Day. To commemorate this historic moment, we worked with St Christopher's Place to create a striking poppy installation of over 100 poppies that invites reflection, remembrance, and connection. ​

Did you know parts of the estate - rebuilt and reimagined after the war - now stand as quiet but powerful reminders of that resilience?​

As part of this activation, we asked the local community and visitors what VE Day means to them.​
